Does our child need to be Jewish to attend SHA?

Yes. SHA follows matrilineal descent. The mother must either be born Jewish, have completed a Va’ad certified conversion, or is currently being sponsored by a Va’ad certified rabbi for conversion process.

How old does my child need to be to start school?

Seattle Hebrew Academy follows the Washington State cut-off for kindergarten. Students must be 5 by August 31.

Early Childhood classes, age cut-offs are as follows:

* Eagles – 4 years by August 31

* Robins – 3 years by August 31

* Chickadees – 2 years by August 31

* Hummingbirds – 1 year by August 31

 

What are the primary entry points to Seattle Hebrew Academy?

The primary entry points for Seattle Hebrew Academy are in Early Childhood, Kindergarten, and Sixth Grade. There are limited spaces available in other grades and we encourage inquiries about openings for specific grades at any time.
